Relate feudalism, the Christian Church, courtly love, and the rise of the middle class to Medieval literature
Describe the growth and importance of trade and commerce at different times in history.
Determine the role of the individual in history.
Distinguish the French, Italian, and English strands of medieval literature.
Recognize the elements of the heroic epic and the romance.
Interpret and respond to Medieval and Renaissance literature both orally and in writing.
Determine the major works of literature in Renaissance Europe and their authors.
